ICCBI at the Forefront of the UAE–Chad Investment Forum: A Milestone in African Economic Transformation

Abu Dhabi, UAE – The International Chamber of Commerce Business and Investment (ICCBI) has concluded a prominent and influential presence at the UAE–Chad Trade and Investment Forum, a landmark two-day gathering held on November 10–11, 2025, in Abu Dhabi. The event marked the global unveiling of Chad’s ambitious national development roadmap, “Chad Connection 2030”, a five-year plan aimed at reshaping the country’s economic landscape.ICCBI’s participation underscored its ongoing mission to harness private-sector networks and drive high-impact development across emerging markets. By fostering direct engagement between major UAE investors and Chad’s expanding economic opportunities, ICCBI strengthened its role as a facilitator of strategic international partnerships.

A Record-Breaking Investment Push

The Forum exceeded all expectations, achieving remarkable financial momentum and securing US$20.5 billion in commitments and agreements—equivalent to two-thirds of the total financing needed for Chad’s US$30 billion development vision.

Major outcomes included:

40 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed with private-sector partners across vital sectors such as energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and logistics.

Financing pledges from more than 30 donor organizations and global financial institutions, including the World Bank Group and the Islamic Development Bank.

A key announcement confirming the completion of negotiation terms for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Chad, expected to be formalized by the end of 2025, paving the way for enhanced bilateral trade.

Strategic Breakthrough: Advancing Halal Industries

Another major milestone—supported significantly by ICCBI’s global network—was the signing of a landmark tripartite agreement focused on developing Chad as a major African hub for halal industries.

With Chad’s livestock population exceeding 150 million, the initiative aims to build an integrated, certified halal meat processing and export system, contributing directly to the “Chad Connection 2030” objective of diversifying the national economy and expanding high-value industrial sectors.

Positioning Chad as Central Africa’s Investment Gateway

Throughout the Forum, Chad was presented as a stable, strategically positioned, and highly prospective destination for international investment. ICCBI played a vital role in highlighting the country’s regulatory reforms, fiscal incentives, and investor-friendly climate, ensuring its member organizations are well placed to participate in emerging opportunities.

The successful mobilization of billions in funding, coupled with the establishment of groundbreaking partnerships, reaffirms ICCBI’s position as a key catalyst connecting global business leaders with transformative economic initiatives across Africa.
